Archivolt Architects is a medium-sized architectural firm active in the field of building, renovation and restoration. We work as an architectural firm in traditionally organized building assignments, in integrated design assignments and within consortia for 'design & build' and DBFMO. Based in Amsterdam, we work on projects in the Netherlands and abroad.
The office works in all phases of construction projects, from initiation and preliminary design to implementation and management and maintenance. Design is the core of our skills, in cooperation with other disciplines we strive for integrated solutions. We focus in design on the total life span of a building with a view to sustainability, maintenance and operation.

Archivolt Architects has its origins in the firm founded by Hein van Meer in 1962. In the beginning the focus was on housing. Since then the portfolio has broadened considerably and now consists of housing, education, social care institutions and utility construction with a specialization in the field of penitentiary institutions. This concerns new construction, renovation and conversion as well as restoration and repair of cultural heritage. The broadening and specialization has taken place by bringing different areas of expertise together in order to respond optimally to an emphatic shift towards redevelopment, renovation and sustainability. Restoration and redevelopment of cultural heritage has experienced significant growth, partly due to the entry of new partners and the acquisition of specialized offices (in 2001 Architectenbureau Peters en Boogers and in 2005 Architektenbureau M. van Haaren B.V.).
